Established logistics provider Stan Robinson (Stafford) has invested more than £550,000 into its national fleet with the support of Willenhall-based Greenhous Commercials.

The distribution business, which has flourished over the past 40 years and expanded from its Stafford base to operate across the UK, has taken delivery of eight new 23-tonne DAF Trucks to enable it to continue to service its clients. One of the Trucks will be utilised from the business’s Devon base, while the other seven will remain at the Midlands HQ.

Mark Robinson, Transport Manager & Director, said that the business had been working closely with Greenhous Commercials for several years.

“We’re always very pleased with the service we receive from Peter Ward and the team at Greenhous – the price, the product, the sales and the back-up support provided is always excellent, and we like the fact that the business is a local provider with a hands-on approach.

“This investment was made enabling us to continue to service our clients efficiently, but also in terms of driver comfort and particularly in light of the new LEZ legislation that will come into force next year. The legislation would mean that 22 per cent of our vehicles couldn’t go into London without accruing a financial penalty – which at £100 and £200 a time could get extremely expensive for a logistics company. We felt it was better to invest sooner rather than later to ensure we were fully compliant.” Mark said.
